What is the TPP?
In June 2006 Tasmanian Premier Paul Lennon announced that the State Government would spend $75 million on promoting Tasmanian tourism, following the withdrawal of Spirit of Tasmania III.
The plan would include $31 million of new funds, backed by $44 million already committed by Tourism Tasmania over the next four years, for marketing and promotion of the state.
The plan is designed to place the Tasmanian tourism industry in the strongest possible position for the future, with the bulk of the funding provided up front.
Following Tasmania-wide consultation, the Tourism Promotion Plan was developed and released by the Premier on 3 November 2006.
